TOTAL INFORMATION AWARENESS OFFICE ALIVE AND WELL...

kos is reporting on his site that the supposed-to-have-been-disbanded TIA (Total Information Awareness) office is up and running, and is, in fact, part and parcel of the Presidents NSA wire-tap program. Of course, the loon-bins over at kos immediately try to find something "unlawful" about this so they can blame Bush, and end up missing the bigger picture.

The point is this: the wiretapping and the TIA have always been tied together. Wiretapping is, of course, only a part of the overall TIA program. What I am surprised more people haven't taken notice of, is the fact that ABLE DANGER actually appears to be the 'alpha' project which gave birth to the TIA program idea. From everything I have been able to uncover about ABLE DANGER, the program was actually a massive open and closed source data mining project, which attempted to match behavioral patterns (of terrorists) against various control patterns. Essentially, this is what TIA is supposed to be as well... Unfortunately, due to unknown conspiracies and cover-ups at the highest levels of the Pentagon, Congress, and the Whitehouse, we will probably never know the true extent of ABLE DANGER or its bastard step-child, the TIA...
